Our gay Chile tour is one of our most exciting active departures to date, offering bold travellers a mix of cosmopolitan Santiago, a sparkling desert oasis, and the opportunity to conquer one of the world’s most sought-after hiking destinations in Patagonia.

Read on for 10 reasons you need to join us in Chile!

10. Climb aboard the Lago Grey ferry

This mini-cruise comes at the very end of our 3-days in Patagonia and allows us a relaxing respite from our trek. Complete with sweeping views, the boat ride culminates at our final hotel, the beyond-amazing Hotel Lago Grey.

9. Up your Insta-game with insane photos

It’s no secret that Patagonia is a nature photographer’s dream! While exploring the trails, we’ll have ample time to stop for impromptu photo shoots with some of nature’s most majestic backdrops.

8. Float in relaxing, salt-dense lagoons

Lather on the SPF before joining us for a bizarrely buoyant dip in Laguna Piedra. This Andean salt lagoon features abundant flamingos and shorebirds. But the real draw is the salt-dense waters that keep you effortlessly afloat.

7. Live it up in Santiago

Santiago has the best gay scene in Chile, and we plan to take a bite out of it. On our final evening together we’ll shantay towards Bellavista, the city’s gorgeous gaybourhood. It’s here we’ll enjoy our last night together while savouring a pisco sour or four. And when the liquid confidence hits –and if the group is feeling up to it – we may swing by Il Divino, the largest gay bar in South America.

6. Discover Chilean cuisine

Our gay Chile tour is packed with unforgettable culinary crusades. We’ll dine al fresco at vineyards, enjoy a desert oasis picnic, and indulge in some sensational group dinners at the country’s best restaurants. But don’t worry, you don’t have to dine with the group every evening. We’ve allotted a number of nights for you to explore the local restaurant scene on your own.

5. Explore Puerto Natales

As we arrive in southern Chile to begin the second half of the tour, we’ll be greeted by a quaint town nestled within dramatic fjords. Puerto Natales is known for being the gateway to Torres del Paine and the starting/ending point of many hiking excursions. Despite the constant influx of travellers, life moves at a relaxing pace for the residents. Look around and you’ll easily find unique restaurants, spas, and locally-brewed beers and wines.

4. Take a crash course in pisco

We’ve organized a special treat for our first evening together: guided pisco tasting with Master Distiller Rodrigo Bauza. The handsome (and gay) sommelier will titillate our taste buds while filling us in on the history and cultural significance of this wildly popular liqueur. Salud!

3. Stargaze in a place with ZERO light pollution

The Atacama Desert has some of the clearest skies in the world, making it the perfect location to observe the cosmos. Together with an astronomer, we’ll enjoy an evening wallowing in the nebulas and getting lost in a milky way. We’ll pinpoint Orion’s Belt and contemplate Casseopeia. All while sipping hot chocolate and eating freshly baked goodies.

2. Get wet in the driest place in the world, the Atacama Desert

One of the most popular activities featured on our inaugural Chilean adventure was the desert hike towards a particularly lush oasis. Along the way, we enjoy vivid desert vantages and learn about the endemic flora and fauna. The sweaty schlep concludes at Puritama natural hot springs (pictured), where we’ll cool off in its mineral rich waters. Don’t forget your bathing suit.

1. Hike epic landscapes in Patagonia and conquer Torres del Paine

Chock full of massive glaciers, crystal clear lakes, and soaring snow-capped peaks, Patagonia is one of the most dynamic terrains in the world. Photos simply don’t do this place justice – it’s that gorgeous. We’ll spend 3 full days “off the grid” as we hike sought-after trails and rest in cozy refugios within Torres del Paine National Park. This will truly be the highlight of the tour.
