ITINERARY:

Om Swasti Astu! Welcome to Bali. Today we officially converge for a short flight to Flores from Bali (not included). Upon landing, we’ll visit a local village to experience the ‘Caci’ whip dance. We'll then board our beautiful home for the next seven days – the Ombak Putih – where we'll acquaint ourselves with the crew and fellow passengers en route to the island of Kelor. You may even opt to visit the island of Kukusan, where you can meet a settlement of ‘sea-gypsies'.

Today begins with a visit to the ranger station of Loh Buaya on Rinca Island. Along with the Komodo dragon, we may encounter monkeys, wild buffaloes, and deer as we venture up to the hillly summit so we may soak in the exceptional views. Upon returning to the ship, we’ll cruise to the magical Pantai Merah ‘red-beach,’ where the sand is rich with red coarl particles that make up its magical hue. We’ll swim. We’ll snorkel. We’ll immerse ourselves in the marine life of one of the richest reefs in Eastern Indonesia.

Today we wake up anchored just off Komodo Island, one of 80-odd islands that make up Komodo National Park. We’ll head for shore and trek through the park to seek out the island’s pre-historic namesake lizard: the Komodo dragon. While lunching aboard the boat, we’ll then cruise past Makassar Reef towards Gili Lawa Darat, the park’s northernmost island. If you’d like to go ashore, you can hike the summit of one of the hills to soak in the view of this magnificent archipelago.

Good morning! For breakfast today, we’ll dine off the beach at Gili Banta, an uninhabited island perfect for swimming and snorkelling. Following this excursion among the denizens of the reef, we proceed to Wera, a Buginese settlement on the northeast coast of Sumbawa. Located across from the active volcanic island of Sangean, we’ll visit the village and see hand-built boats in various stages of construction. Some of these boats are colossal in size, and the construction techniques are fascinating to watch. The day ends with us luxuriating on deck as we make our way westward.

Today we’ll discover Satonda, the remains of an ancient extinct volcano with a stunning crater lake and beautiful coral gardens. We'll walk to the lip of the caldera to view the lake and its surrounding ‘wishing trees’ (to make your own wish, just tie a stone to one of the trees). We’ll then cruise to the island of Moyo and moor off Labuan Aji village. A walk from there will bring us to Diwu Mba’i waterfall, where you can swing on a rope and jump into the deep clear river pool below (or you can simply bathe in the refreshing waters if you’re feeling a little less ambitious). Once back at sea, we'll have time for a snorkel on the reef, leaving plenty more time to relax under the stars as we continue westward to Lombok.

The day begins moored off the coast of North Lombok, from where we’ll venture into the traditional village of Senaruinterior. Located on the northern side of the island, we’ll be treated to a tour of the village with one of the locals. Then back to our vessel, where we'll cruise towards Tangkong for a lavish late afternoon barbecue on the beach. Put your feet in the sand, enjoy the roaring bonfire, and bask in memory of the last six days.

Today, depending on the weather, we’ll either visit the island of Nusa Penida, the island of Nusa Lembongan, or Amuk Bay in Bali. We’ll then have a final swim and a snorkel before cruising to a mooring in either east or southeast Bali. Finally, we’ll bid farewel to our crew before transferring to a central, gay-welcoming boutique hotel in the stylish area of Seminyak, where you can enjoy an optional farewell dinner and night on the town.

There are no activities planned today, and you are free to depart at your leisure. Safe travels!
