Bienvenido! Welcome to Baja California Sur. Our trip officially begins with a group meeting at 6PM, followed by an included dinner at a local restaurant.

Today we transfer to Espiritu Santo Island aboard a high-speed motor boat. Our Guide will discuss safety, and give beginners the basics of sea-kayaking. After that, our first paddle will take us into an estuary that leads to a mangrove forest filled with several nesting bird species. We’ll then carry on, beneath spectacular volcanic cliffs, to our first beach camp for the night.

Continuing in our kayaks, today we’ll discover sea birds nesting on several off-shore islands. The ensuing bay has a sensational canyon, with a dry waterfall and a well of brackish (briny) water. As for the afternoon, you can wander with our guide, or bask in the glory of the stunning views at our fabulous beach camp.

Today we kayak to the north end of the island, crossing to Isla Partida. There we’ll set up camp in the breathtaking bay of Ensenada Grande.

This morning we’ll boat to an exquisite islet that a stunning sea lion colony calls home. We’ll swim with the pups and snorkel with thousands of tropical fish…a totally awesome (and adorable) aquatic adventure! After we return to the beach camp for lunch, we’ll continue back to La Paz by mid-afternoon. Once we check-in at our hotel, feel free to explore La Paz on your own, or our guide can recommend places to visit. The evening features an optional dinner with our Guide.

This afternoon we’ll hop aboard a motorboat to scope out out some whale sharks. These creatures are absolutely massive, but totally docile, so get ready to swim and snorkel amidst these magnificent beasts. This will be followed by a tasty picnic lunch to appease our rapacious appetite, then we’ll return to La Paz for a leisurely stroll around the picturesque seaside town (we may even sample some local, home-made, fruit flavoured ice cream). The day ends with a free evening, and another optional dinner with our Guide.

López Mateos is the ultimate whale-watching destination in the Baja California Sur region. This morning we’ll transfer here, on the shores of the Pacific Lagoons, in an air-conditioned private van. Within minutes of boarding our motor skiffs, we’ll be out in the bay, surrounded by gray whales. Seriously…up-close encounters are almost guaranteed, and the whole thing is a real spectacle. Back on shore, it’s only a two-minute stroll to our rustic cabins, where we'll relax before dining on a fresh seafood meal at a nearby palapa restaurant.

This morning’s breakfast will be authentically Mexican, and a great way to fuel up before we spend another day with the gray whales. If you haven't already kissed one, pucker up, and don’t miss your chance to do so! We’ll then return back to López Mateos for a delicious lunch prepared by one of the fishing community’s local families. After that, we head back to La Paz, where you can take some time to relax and freshen up before we celebrate the adventure at our included Farewell Dinner in a traditional Mexican restaurant.

There are no activities planned today, and you are free to depart at your leisure.
