Gear up for the journey ahead in Puerto Maldonado, then travel by bus and motorized canoe into the steamy jungle. Arrive at the lodge in time for a briefing on the accommodation and eco-tourism project. The staff here are local and all eager to impart their knowledge of the jungle. After dark, venture down to the river's shore to go caiman spotting - look out for the red glints of their beady eyes along the bank.

Take a walk to a tower that has been built upon high ground, giving you the best possible view of the jungle below. From here you'll take a 4.5 hour canoe ride to the Tambopata Research Centre set amidst 700,000 hectares of uninhabited land. Along the way we'll make a stop at the Chuncho Clay Lick which attracts more macaws than anywhere in the world. Get settled in the lodge because the next few days will be packed with walks, hikes, canoe rides, and more wildlife than you can shake a stick at (hopefully you don't have to)!

Spend three nights within the Tambopata National Reserve to explore a variety of habitats around the Tambopata Research Center, including wildlife such as Brown Capuchin, Spider Monkeys, Woodpeckers, Oropendolas, Flycatchers, Parakeets, and much, much more. Days will be spent on various excursions, walks, and activities.

A final canoe ride offers the chance to bid the Amazon farewell before returning to Puerto Maldonado, to be transferred to the airport.
