AREA MAP

ITINERARY:

Hallo! Welcome to South Africa. Our trip kicks off at 6PM with a group meeting, and sunset cocktails, overlooking the exquisite African plains. Our Welcome Dinner at the lodge is included, and the evening is yours to relax and acquaint yourself with your fellow travellers.

Today we’ll explore both the Zambian and Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls, splitting into groups of three for an exhilarating helicopter ride. You’ll zoom above the falls, then through the gorge below, before we all converge in the late afternoon for sunset cocktails and dinner aboard a top-notch river cruiser. Through it all we may spot some elephants, crocodiles, and perhaps a pod of hippos or two.

This morning we’ll transfer to Livingstone Airport for a flight to the Greater Kruger National Park area. Upon arrival, we’ll drive to one of South Africa’s finest natural sanctuaries: the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, and our all-inclusive five-star bush lodge. Following an afternoon game drive, we’ll feast on a delicious African meal, then get to know our hosts by the grand fireplace. In the background, through it all, we’ll be immersed in the wild soundscape of the African bush.

This morning we’ll awake to hot coffee and tea, served in our rooms by our safari guides, before we venture out for a sunrise game drive. Back at the lodge, we’ll then have a hearty breakfast, some free time before a late lunch, and another game drive at sunset. After dark, everything (including dinner) will be lit by lanterns, candles, and fireplaces throughout the lodge. It’s dreadfully charming, obnoxiously amazing, and the worst part is we must suffer through it all again tomorrow.

Today we’ll transfer to Skakuza Airport for a flight to Cape Town. We’ll then make our way to our lodge (or mansion, rather), that will serve as home base to explore the city and surrounds. For dinner we’ll have a South African barbeque by the pool, break out more cocktails, then perhaps gather round the fire to discuss our adventure thus far.

This morning we’ll explore Cape Town’s landmark Table Mountain, Devil's Peak and Lion's Head. We’ll follow this up with a city tour including The Company’s Garden, the South African Museum, the Castle of Good Hope, Greenmarket Square, and Bo-Kaap. It may sound ambitious, but it’s all very achievable, because by this point it will only be lunch, which we’ll enjoy at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Afterward, you can check out the artisanal market, then the afternoon and evening are yours to enjoy as you see fit (although an optional dinner will be on offer).

Get ready to laugh and sip your way through the finest vineyards in Stellenbosch, as we’ll be joined by an exuberant host who is a highly regarded South African wine judge and critic. We’ll end the day at Jordan Winery, where we’ll learn why it’s home to the top-rated restaurant in the country while we relish an included dinner and wine pairing. In other words, it’ll be another exhausting day of decadence.

Today is devoted to a scenic drive around the Cape Peninsula. We’ll pass through the stunning Clifton and Camps Bay areas, along with Hout Bay. We'll visit the beautiful Cape Point Nature Reserve, Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Beach. Then we’ll arrive back to Cape Town just in time for high tea Champagne and pastries. This will be followed by some free time, an optional Farewell Dinner, and drinks at a popular bar.

There are no activities planned today, so you are free to depart at your leisure. Safe travels!
