PALM-LINED BEACHES. WORLD-RENOWNED ARCHITECTURE. AND CORAL REEFS GALORE WITH OUT ADVENTURES GAY TRAVEL

The Lowdown

It may be part of North America, but Mexico is a world unto itself. Markets and street vendors rival nightlife and festivities. Palm-lined beaches and reefs beg to be explored. It's a gorgeous place with one of the most vibrant cultures you'll encounter, where you can go from mountains to caves, or from museums to cafés. When it comes to Mexico, no matter how long you stay, it just won't be long enough.

The LGBT Factor

Mexico has strong influences from the Roman Catholic Church, so tends to be fairly conservative. However, it has grown to become more welcoming of the LGBT community. Mexico City and Puerto Vallarta have the most vibrant gay scenes, with plenty of nightlife and gay-welcoming accommodations.

The Best Time to Visit

When visiting Mexico City, any time between March and May is great. The streets are busy, there's less chance of rain, and the temperature averages a lovely 24C/75F. On the Baja Peninsula, the best time to visit is between December and March, with average temperatures around 25C/77F.

The Shock Factor

Tourism in Mexico is well-developed enough to afford many of the luxuries of home. This being said, roads may be in rough shape, Wi-Fi may be slow, and not everyone will speak English. We recommend you relax, have a sense of humour, and take it easy.

Visas

A visa is not typically required for American, Australian, British and Canadian citizens travelling to Mexico. There may be exceptions, and all visas are the responsibility of the traveller.

Vaccinations

Based on the entry requirements for Mexico, there are no vaccinations needed for entry unless you are travelling from a Yellow Fever Zone, in which case you'll be required to provide proof of Yellow Fever vaccination. To determine if you should take preventative measures to reduce the risk of illness, you should consult your doctor or a travel medical clinic, as OUT Adventures cannot provide vaccination recommendations.

Mexico City Discovery

It covered not only the major tourist highlights of Mexico City but intimate, daily-life elements of the place as well. The special dinners at Dolce Patria and the home of Jorge and Beto were fabulous and showed imagination and careful thought by Robert and the other planners.

A very quick look at some of the highlights of Mexico City and a couple of unique experiences (i.e. the sweat lodge, Dulce Patria and the dinner at the gay couple's home).

Met my expectations for an "intro" to a new city! Group was fun and small, which gave us more opportunities than large group.
